Text Message Terms

Last updated October 6, 2026

Wovi sends text messages to family caregivers who ask us to — about the appointments, prescription refills, and requests we handle for the aging parents they care for. This page explains exactly how you opt in, what we send, and how to stop.

How you opt in

Wovi never texts a number that hasn't been added and consented to by the account holder.

  • Caregiver alerts: during account setup in the Wovi app or at mywovi.com, the caregiver may enter their own mobile number in the optional Where should Wovi text you? step. A number is texted only if they also check the consent box shown below. The box is unchecked by default, texts are optional (the step can be skipped), and setup can’t continue with a number entered unless the box is checked. After opting in, the number receives one confirmation text (below).
  • Verification codes: a user may choose to verify their account by text by entering their own mobile number and tapping "Send verification code." We send one code per request.
  • Waitlist: people who join the waitlist on mywovi.com may optionally provide a phone number, which is labeled "we'll text you first," to receive a single message when Wovi opens.

What the opt-in looks like

This is the exact opt-in step in Wovi’s setup, shown here so anyone can review it:

Where should Wovi text you?

Optional. Updates always show in Wovi; add your mobile if you also want a text.

The opt-in step in Wovi setup. The box starts unchecked; “text terms” links to this page and “privacy policy” to mywovi.com/privacy.

Right after opting in, the number gets this confirmation text: “Wovi: You’re signed up for text alerts about your family’s appointments and requests. Msg frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help, STOP to opt out.”

What we send

Transactional, service-related messages only — no marketing or promotions. For example:

  • "Wovi: Mom — appointment booked with Dr. Lee Thu, Sep 24, 9:00 AM. Confirmation #4821. View in your Wovi calendar. Reply STOP to opt out."
  • "Wovi: all 3 of your preferred times for Mom were full, but Valley Cardiology had Fri, Sep 25 at 2:00 PM available. Reply YES to have us book it, NO to pick different times in the app."
  • "Your Wovi verification code is 482913. It expires in 10 minutes."

Frequency and cost

Message frequency varies with your family's activity — typically a few messages per request. Message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile plan. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

How to opt out or get help

  • Reply STOP to any Wovi message to stop receiving texts. We'll send one confirmation and then no further messages to that number.
  • Reply START to opt back in.
  • Reply HELP for help, or email hello@mywovi.com.
  • You can also turn text alerts on or off any time from your Wovi account settings.

Privacy

We do not sell, rent, or share mobile numbers or text-message opt-in consent with third parties for their marketing purposes. See our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
